I’ve always loved a good flea market and was lucky enough to find one in Paris recently. I love the slow strolling, the digging through treasures and the stops for coffee. I like the smell of old books and the delight when you find something ultra retro or something that reminds you of your childhood. It’s a great thing to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
This one in Paris is massive. It’s like a huge area of several blocks and I don’t think we got through all of it. Here is where you will find it.
I think it’s worth a visit and its also worth stopping for lunch while you are there. Be warned, a lot of the cafes are a bit pricey. We had a plate of fantastic chilli pasta and a glass of wine each. It set us back around $65 (Australian). That’s a bit outrageous but the service was amazing, the food was delicious, and we were on holiday, so we didn’t complain too much.
I noticed some really amazing Persian rugs in some of the shops, pricey again, but I still wanted to bring them all home! We bought a beautiful tiny ladle and an adorable butter knife! I’d have bought heaps if I hadn’t been travelling.
You know I love a flea market, estate sale or thrift store and a flea market in Paris sounds just divine! Well done on your restraint!
